Information | Victoria Park has many scenic wooded area and trails to explore. The park is available for public use. Some amenities can be booked in advance by contacting Truro Parks, Recreation and Culture Department. These include: the baseball field, bandshell, picnic pavilion, and gazebo. For a map of the walking trails, click here. Walking, snowshoeing and skiing are permitted on the trails. For a map of the ski trails, click here. In addition to the trails and wooded areas, there are several features available to use in Truro's Victoria Park, including: The Playground The playground is located in the main area of the park, near all amenities including a canteen and restrooms. Playground includes swings, seesaws, climbing poles, natural elements, a large climbing feature, play structures with slides, and a splash pad. The splash pad is currently under construction and set to open for the 2021 summer season. The Ball Field The ballfield is located at the entrance of Victoria Park, and is used mainly for minor ball. The site features two dugouts, bleachers and a scoreboard. The field is free to use, but must be reserved in advance by calling the Town of Truro Parks, Recreation and Culture Department. Lighting for the facility is available for an additional cost. The Bandshell The bandshell is located in the lower park; a very short distance from parking, public restrooms and playground. It is an ideal location for summer concerts and movie nights, and is available for use by the public. There is no cost, but must be reserved in advance through the Town of Truro Parks, Recreation and Culture Department. There are several picnic tables onsite, and users are welcome to provide their own seating. The Holy Well Gazebo The Holy Well Gazebo is located in the "gorge" area of Victoria Park, along a main walking trail. Nestled in trees, beside a brook, the gazebo features a grassy area for seating and has several picnic tables, a seating bench and a small charcoal barbeque onsite. Users can also bring their own seating. The Holy Well Gazebo is ideal for weddings, picnics, family reunions, birthdays, small (unplugged) concerts and special occasion photography. There is no cost for use, but must be reserved in advance by calling the Town of Truro Parks, Recreation and Culture Department. The Picnic Pavilion The picnic pavilion is located in the lower park, on the west bank of Lepper Brook, and close to public parking. The structure is rectangular and roofed, and is a short distance from restrooms, the playground, swimming pool and walking trails. Ideal for use for picnics, family reunions, birthday parties and other events. There is an onsite barbeque (bring your own charcoal) and several picnic tables. There is no cost to use the pavilion, but it must be reserved well in advance by calling the Truro Parks, Recreation and Culture Department. Victoria Park also has a pool and is home to the Truro Tennis Club. |
