Description & Services
Information This is part of the Cobequid Trail, an 18 km network of trails in central Colchester County. Follow this trail on the former Dominion Atlantic Railway line through the marshlands along Cobequid Bay and McClures Brook. From the Lower Truro trailhead, travel west on the trail through farmland to reach beautiful views of the tidal Salmon River and Cobequid Bay. (From the Cobequid Bay Lookoff, the trail skirts the shoreline to Old Barns.) From the Lower Truro trailhead, travel east toward Truro, along a green corridor between McClures Brook and an industrial area. 
The Marshlands section is continuous with the Old Barns section and DAR section of the Cobequid Trail, and is part of the Great Trail and Nova Scotia Blue Route. 
Length: 3 km linear 
Permitted uses: walking, cycling, dogs on leash. No motorized vehicles.  
Trail surface: firmly packed crushed gravel, wooden bridges 
Trail Access: 4057 Highway 236, Lower Truro (across from Truro Heights Road). Limited parking is available (no RV's).
