Information November 2022 - Only the southern section of Sandy Cope Trail is open. From the trailhead at 1734 Kemptown Road, you can now travel on Yellow Birch Trail, turn right onto Portage Trail, turn right onto Sandy Cope Trail. Then you can continue north on Sandy Cope about 250 m to Donald's Falls (trail is closed beyond Donald's Falls), or turn right onto Willard Kitchener MacDonald Trail and travel to Meguma Falls. (Trail is impassable on east side of Maguma Falls.) Other sections of Sandy Cope Trail remain closed due to damage from Hurricane Fiona. Please respect trail closure notices and signage. This trail is part of the Gully Lake Trail System of wilderness hiking trails. Hikers are advised to read and consider Cobequid Eco-Trails Society Trail Users' Checklist before heading into the Gully Lake Wilderness Area. Hikers are to follow the path and trail markers. Length: 6.4 km loop Rating: "moderate" difficulty Trail surface: soil/footpath Permitted uses: hiking, snowshoeing, backcountry skiing Trail access: via Yellow Birch Trail, which is located at the trailhead at 1734 Kemptown Road.
