Information | May 14, 2024 - Cleanup of hiking trails in the Gully Lake Trail System is ongoing. There was extensive damage from Hurricane Fiona in September 2022, and some hiking trails remain closed.
Open trails: 1) Rogart Mountain Trail 2) Earltown Lake and Portage Trail 3) Juniper Head Trail - from the Glen Road trailhead, the trail is open approximately 3.2 km (one-way) to the Juniper Brook bridge. The trail is closed beyond that point. You must turn around at the bridge and return the same way. 4) Yellow Birch Trail 5) Willard Kitchener MacDonald Trail (Trail is closed on east side of Gully Lake Brook/Meguma Falls.) 6) Sandy Cope Trail
Closed trails: 1) Gully Lake Trail 2) Juniper Head Trail - from the Glen Road trailhead, the trail is closed beyond Juniper Brook bridge. Closed trails have flagging tape and closed signs at the entry point. Please do not remove as the trails have not been cleared and are unsafe. Please respect trail closure notices and signage. --------------------- The Gully Lake Trail System is a 34 km wilderness hiking trail system, developed and managed by Cobequid Eco-Trails Society. The network of trails is located in the Cobequid Mountains near Earltown and Kemptown, and consists of three independent loops ranging from 6 km to 10 km, in addition to linear connector trails. Highlights of the trail system include Gully Lake Wilderness Area, Caribou Lake Brook, Taylor Lake, Earltown Lake and Rogart Mountain. The trails also pass by or are near numerous waterfalls and ecologically sensitive marshes. Hikers are advised to read and consider the Cobequid Eco-Trails Society's Trail Users' Checklist Trails in the Gully Lake Hiking Trail System:
