Description & Services

Information Here are some great places to explore while staying in Nova Scotia this summer!

Creamery Square:

Creamery Square is an historic waterfront development site in Tatamagouche, located along the Northumberland Shore’s scenic Sunrise Trail driving route that boasts a unique combination of exciting and interactive visitor activities. On site there are four main attractions to visit: The Farmers Market, The Heritage Centre, The Arts Centre, and The Boat Shop! This is a wonderful place for your whole family to visit.

Patterson Wharf Park:

Patterson Wharf Park is a five-minute walk from downtown and is a great place to view Tatamagouche Bay, take photos, have a picnic or a barbeque, or to just relax. The park is located beside the Butter Trail (part of the Trans Canada Trail). The park was built by the lonely husbands of Tatamagouche during the filming of the 2008 T.V. series
“The Week the Women Went”.

Nelson Memorial Park:

Nelson Memorial Park is a great place to picnic with family or friends under the large timber frame picnic shelter or one of the smaller covered picnic tables. Enjoy the ocean view from the paths along the shore. Explore the Butter Trail (rail trail), part of the Trans Canada Trail. For the kids there is a swing and slide on the playground. Take a stroll along the paths through the woods or walk the gravel beach and watch for wildlife along the salt marsh. Spend a moment to stop and smell the roses in the floral gardens.

Train Station Inn/Railway Dining Car:

The century-old Train Station and railway cars are located centrally within the vibrant and historical village of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. Restored in the 1980's with furnishings reflecting its railway past, the station itself and its spacious cabooses and boxcars offer a unique boutique hotel, dining and shopping experience.
The Dining Car is a first-class experience. The car was built in 1928 and was used by CNR. It found its new home in 2001, and since then has been refurbished into a dining car. It is open daily for lunch & dinner, mid-May through mid-October. Private event bookings and reservations are welcome.
